Poland and Britain: A Partnership Brexit Didn’t Break

Brexit was supposed to weaken economic ties between Poland and the UK. It did the opposite. Over the four quarters to March 2026, bilateral trade reached £33.9 billion — up nearly 5% year on year. UK exports to Poland grew 12.4% to £13.2 billion. That’s not luck.

This week’s call between Prime Minister Burnham and Prime Minister Tusk confirmed the direction: both want a closer trading partnership, even though London is no longer in the EU. British Trade Minister Anas Sarwar met Polish officials in October to argue British companies should stay eligible under Made in Europe rules. Poland — with real weight inside the Union — can act as the bridge.

Good news for anyone working across both markets. You don’t have to choose between the EU and Britain. You just need to know the road between them.
